The Heroes successfully routed rats out of the basement of the Scarred Beaver. They sealed the hole to the sewers that the rats had dug into the basement from, and returned for payment. After a short altercation with Ms. Sapphire, they received payment, and went to the bar to celebrate.
After a little bit of drinking the mercantile few saw that the poster board had a new notice informing the reader that there were orcs spotted gathering in the woods near the Otis Farmstead. The party decided that the best course of action was to go route the orc problem immediately, knowing that orcs can often cause trouble when gathering en mass.
The party traveled to the Farmstead to find it in ruins. Several orcs rushed out to meet the “intruders,” but were quickly cut down by the able warriors. The last remaining orc made a desperate suicidal charge for Flik, the party rogue, and cleaved the Aasimar’s head off his shoulders. Shocked the party dispatched the last orc and readied for more to attack. After no attack came, the group checked the premises for danger. Upon checking the house the band found that Milo Otis, the owner of the farmstead was dead, but found that one of the doors was barred, inside revealed that Milo’s two children had survived the onslaught.
After some conversation and deduction the heroes found that the mother of the children had been carried off by the orcs, and Milo died defending his children. After burying Flik and return the children to Ivarov, the group pursued the orcs desperate to save Alydia Otis.
At the same time, Vail, a Lorynthian Ranger, was hunting near his lodge a few miles down river from Ivarov when he received a desperate message from Graveus Stone pleading that he back up the adventures who were marching to stop the orc squad.
The adventures caught and dispatched the orcs who were carrying off Alydia Otis, and saved her from what could have been a grim fate. Upon saving the woman they met up with Vail, and proceeded back to Ivarov, not wanting to be caught in the dark to investigate the orc camp.
After resting in the security of Ivarov, the party ventured to route the war camp. After doing surveillance of the camp they set a plan and routed the orcs. After killing several of the orcs and their worg mounts, their leader decided to show himself. The warchief was a sickly kind of evil and much to large to be of natural birth. Thanks to the help of Duke Kornis Greymarrow, brother of the King of Delvia, the party defeated the feral beast. After its death Gaius and Ur’Shyrr discovered that the source of the Orc’s power was a gem shard that was embedded in the orc’s forehead. Upon retrieving it Gaius was compelled to shove the shard into his own forehead, when Ur’Shyrr slapped the shard out of his grasp and grabbed it with a covered hand.
